We got a better exchange rate through Travelex than in resort. 2.52 ordered on line and collected at the airport. Hotel was only 2.45 and even in town just 2.5.
Today Travelex are 2.446, but anyone who is just back could give a better idea of resort rates- we got back 10 days ago.
According to the Sofia Echo. The bank rate today is 2.5689 lev to the pound which means the tourist rate will be crap at exchange desks in uk now especially!
If you use a Nationwide cash card they are about one of the only ones that don't charge for overseas withdrawal at an ATM. I have a Nationwide bank account purely for holiday spends. We took a little cash with us but just withdrew what we needed as we went along. Very few places accept credit cards and the most you can withdraw from cash points is 400 lev (about £150) per day.
s - we got it through our instructor Nicky - he told us about it on our first day and arranged it all for us. He was based at the main ski school at ski centre 2. I'm sure if you asked any of the ski school staff they's be able to organise it for you.
