now that bulgaria has been granted access to the eu are we going to see from the start of this season a general hike in prices in food, drink, skiwear, and holiday prices.i hope not, as if they try to rip people off they may ski nearer to home if they feel value for money is being lost ,not against anyone making a living but you only have to look across europe to see how the euro escalated prices.
Are the UK using the Euro.......... No.
And what do you pay for a pint of beer in the UK -- £3.
In Bulgaria 50p. If it goes up to £1 thats fine by me.
If they wanted to hike up prices why would they wait until they joined Europe and what has the Euro got to do with it?
Bulgrians DO NOT rip off people, as you put it but offer a warm and friendly greeting to all whilst being extremely competitive with their pricing.
If prices eventually ...
What a totally uneducated and pointless post.

If prices eventually do increase then sobeit.
This sort of post gets my back up big-time so...........
If you feel what Bulgaria has to offer is not worth the price then don't go. But don't criticize the people who are trying to improve their standard of life without resulting to war as we have done for centuries.
i was not getting at the resorts the people or the current prices i am just making a educated post with a point going on what has gone before in other countries in europe that have adopted the euro , and to say that no business would not trying to make a killing if they could is absurd of course they would they are in busuness to make money for a good standard of living .perhaps you missed the key point, which is if bulgaria does become more expensive will that turn people of going , nothing ...

Bulgaria is not adopting the Euro until 2010. They are just joining the EU on 1st January. Personally I'm still looking forward very much to returning and I don't think we will see an immediate rise in prices to any great degree.
so you are saying that prices wont change now that bulgaria is entering the eu in 2007 because they wont be using the euro currency the proof will be in the pudding
Prices will continue to increase, like in any other country. It's called inflation.
But maybe BG will increase fairly quickly so as when they do change over to the euro the exchange is not so noticible.
We have noticed price increases in general during the year we have been living here.
Just my 2 bob, for what it's worth.
