re: helmet protection

They don't have to wear them but for my mind i would make it a condition that she does,if she were doing 20mph on a motobike she'd wear one so whats the dif...

Small price to pay,my kids always wear them...

re: helmet protection

There were no enforcements in Boro last Jan and I suspect that there wont be any this season either.

We have 3 daughters (one aged 13) and they all wore their helmets whether they wanted to or not. My wife and I are looking into helmets for ourselves after someone we know suffered and nasty knock and concusion after a tumble in Val Thorens a couple of weeks ago.

re: helmet protection

I fell and hit my head last year, never hit my head before so never bothered with a helmet. It really really b****y hurts if the snow is packed, I won't go without a helmet in future. I have to agree I would make her wear one.

it only takes one nasty face plant or fall and it's holiday over. How would you feel if you didn't insist! and she came back in the hold Confused

re: helmet protection

I agree with all comments on here,i always wear a crash helmet, but its just that i was not sure if it was illegal not to wear one in borovets.
In some italian resorts i think you have to wear a helmet unless you are 16 and over.

re: helmet protection

Why not buy one and take it with you - when she sees that most people wear them and she's not going to be the odd geek out, she may have less of a problem.

re: helmet protection

No law as yet. Google it, and it shows lot's of petitions worldwide but no enforcement yet.

So depends place to place. Case of common sense. I wear a helmet some days depends on the weather and snow conditions.

Should wear one more often if iam honest. Have had nasty bumps before but where there's no sense............

The kids dot't go boarding if they don't have their helmet on!

re: helmet protection

I always make sure i wear a helmet whilst i`m snowboarding,I dont really ski that much now,but if i`m honest, like yourself i did not wear mine all the time. But if i was going to ski on this trip i would, just to show my stepdaughter thats it not such a big thing, also there are some nice designs around so maybe i will get her to pick which one she wants.

re: helmet protection

Went to the snowdome today as Hollie had her first snowboard lesson. The helmet they first gave us had a crack all the way through it. They appologised and threw it in the bin.

They said they get through a lot of helmets but saves a lot of heads! Very Happy
