Bulgaria Ski discussion board

The snow was superb from 19-feb to 26-feb....as a beginner had a whale of a time and skiied every day..........

ya canni do nowt about nature...

but you can do something about the ignorant BOROSPORT ski instructors....They have a monopoly over the resort, ski lifts, gondola etc and they wouldn`t know how to queue if it jumped up and smahed em in the face........Our ski instructors from the hotal Samakov queued, so why can`t they....

If anyone is going out there soon, take a stand, anyone pushing in, tell em......we certainly did and some took note and joined the back of the queue......

one of them didnt and he fell over and nearly split his ass.....the whole queue laughed, very fine point of my holiday.....

Enjoy it for those going out there, its a good place and very nice for skiing I thought....

As the author of this thread is an experienced skier having skied presumably other European resorts perhaps he was drawing comparison from them. I have skied all over the world in the eighties when I was on a team so by comparison I can say I am returning again next year (and next week!). Pay over the odds to go to the USA, spend cash like its going out of fashion in France, Snow, well as said, thats in the lap of the Gods in any country really!
Borovets was well worth returning again and again as far as I am concerned until my kids have skied out every run and need new challenges. then hopefully I will saved enough to go USA again!
For the price you pay in the brochure and when in resort, for the charm, the people, and the quality of skiing (providing your not looking for expert pistes all day), as an experienced skier i would have no hessitation in recommending Bulgaria. (each to their own)
