i stayed 2 years ago and found the hotel excellent. location is superb well within walking distance to the gondala or take the shuttle bus which picks ups from the in house ski depot. Food is plentiful and adequate. The swimming pool and sauna is a lovely welcome after a hard day on the slope. There is plenty all going on nearby if you want to venture outside (strongley suggested) plenty of eating and drinking all within 100 metres of the hotel
Having just returned from staying at the Kempinski...I noticed there were about 20 people jumping off the bus when dropping off so looks like a popular place...
Not 100% about smoking there...but in Kempinski we were still asked for smoking or non smoking table when going for food. We didn't see anyone smoking but seems it may still be around in some places.
Sorry one more question - we will be arriving about 10pm so I dount we'll be able to eat at the hotel that late? So are there any local places that open fairly late near by?
Plus another thing is there are a number of 24hr shops just opposite up the hill little...plus these shops use a scanner when buying items so you know the price on the shelf is the price you pay.
Yep we're half board - will try and eat on some of the nights though - or maybe be a pig and do both the evening meal then go out! lol
Will keep an eye out for those shops - think we might take some supplies for during the day judging by what some have said about the slopes food and probably not finding the few good places
I hope they're that nice when we get there and have some food out hehe
No worries...you may have the choice of having a meal at lunch time if you wanted to instead of the evening. That way you can ski back to hotel and have nice lunch...go back on slopes or chill in pool and then go out for food in evening!
Without sound ing like a cheapo...my Wife and I had half board at Kempinski this year, and we never ate a thing on the slopes because we had good breakfast! It was the cheapest holiday ever...only spent £65 for the whole week.
