Hi Ryan, we went on the 3rd, it wasn't too bad when we got there, but after a couple of days the slopes were in a bit of a state. It didn't snow at all while we were there, but now they have got snow cannons just hope the temp stays low enough. It gets quite addictive now you have found this site, and watching the webcams will be the first thing you log on to....lol.
Tesco are offering 2.07 lev to the £ at the minute. I don't know whether to buy £500 worth now (free delivery) or wait and take muny out of the atm when im in bansko. Any advise? Im from the north of Ireland so wouldn't have new bank of england notes or new euro notes to exchange, just ulster notes that are hard enough to try and get spent when i'm on a weekend break in england never mind bulgaria lol
Mary, A voice in my head tells me they won't take your Ulster notes. From memory using my UK debit card to withdraw cash from a Bulgarian cash machine did give me a better rate than in England but because the amounts were quite low the cash machine charge wiped out the gain.
Im referring to Bansko re, Alpha Bank.. the Greek Bank, and just about the best bank in Bansko... Unfortunately not open on Saturdays, but Mon to Fri is ok up to 04.30pm...
Nationwide cards are still doing cash with no commission, but their rates are not as good as the bank... Todays bank rate.. 2.16
