re: newbie nerves

You will have an awesome time.

I'm off to Borovets on Saturday 12th and I've never snowboarded on real snow before and only done around 15-20 hours on a dryslope in England before the holiday.

Just listen to the instructor, trust what they say, relax and you be fine.

Have fun!!

re: newbie nerves

as a first timer at the beginning you "may" not have to go on the lifts in boro for a few days, they will probably teach at the bottom to begin so forget the nerves you will be able to see people using them quite a lot first before you have to sit on one, and by the time you do you will be happy to get to go further up the mountain Very Happy

re: newbie nerves

It was my first time on a lift with a snowboard. I only fell once and my wife only fell once also. It's easier than you think, relax and enjoy, you'll love it. If your realy nervous take me with you , I'll hold your hand Very Happy

re: newbie nerves

dont panick about the drag lifts...they are really slow on the nursery slopes...you will have a right laugh learning to use them...just relax and lean back a little with your weight mainly on your back foot...and let go if you fall.

and when you fall on the slopes try not to stick your hands out to stop yourself...pull your hands into your chest and fall onto the tops of your arms, your sides, your shoulders, your bum... your wrists are so much easier to break than all of the above.. ...

Hot chocolate with a drop of rum helps the nerves a treat. DOH
