The person coming from above the mountain should have sufficient skill to not collide with those lower down. Not sure of the exact words. I think it means that you shouldn't bowl people out of the way. There is a small credit card size thing with rules on, I think you get given them as part of your ski pack.
With the lifts in Pamps they allow you to carry your board on but it is worth practicing as you become more confident because if you go to France they will not let you. Best tip I was given is to put your hand on the seat as you get off and let it push you forwards. If you are holding on to it, it can't then hit you in the head (that happened to me once). Also in Pamps I noticed they slow the lift right down for you to get off. Have a great time and don't forget the hip flask!
Honestly. Just embrace the fear remember the amount of exercise you get to. Most people come back from holiday having put on a few pounds. hit the slops hard and you'll lose it (Well you wont if you like i do)
8 of us leaving from gatwick South tomorrow... of how exciting I think a bit of wee just came out :-)
Been sking for neary 20 years now and still get nervous. I reckon a few nerves bring on the disciplines that all of us need on the first day back on the slopes.
A few years back after we had been skiing for about 12 years, we had to do the first morning test and we were so crap we were put in a low class. Ater 2 hours we were sent to a much higher class but it tought us never to be too cocky on the first morning.
Don't worry too much. Was my first time skiing last year and loved it. Off to Pamps again this year to try boarding. But then I HAVE just come back from a month in Thailand/Laos so I guess I've had the best of both worlds.
You can always do both!!
