I love bulgaria but i feel sometimes people can give other people a false impression and paint an extremely bright and glossy picture of the place. I have traveled alot in Bulgaria over the last number of years all over the country. On first impressions some people you meet in the street etc can seem a bit ignorant but all people that you make an effort to bond with or interact will will be as helpfull as the can. They will bend overbackwards for you, but maybe if it is the case that if you dont make the effort to interact with them they will often just ignore you instead of making the first move. This can sometimes come across as ignorance but you need to get over it and they will be the most helpful and hospitable people they can be. Make an effort and you will really enjoy yourself.
I dont want to be percieved as another James knocking Bulgaria in favour of some fancy Swiss resort. I love Bansko
PS I havent been to London in years and have no reason to go back in the near future
