Not true williamsfamily - almost all the major hotels have cash dispensers in the reception area. These give a pretty good exchange rate - as do most hotel receptions. Best rates are normally in the resorts rather than the UK high streets. Travellers cheques get a poor exchange rate in resort so dont bother with them. NEVER EVER change money with strangers no matter what rate they offer as you will be given worthless old currency in exchange. If taking Sterling make sure all notes are clean, ...

I seriously recommend this address. It is part of the tourist office and features a 13.55 video showing Pamporovo. In addition there is FULL information on the area and even a note re cheap phone calls home. Current condition in resort etc. I have only looked at a couple of the places on the menu and intend to go back again after this comment - Williams Family please take note. See:-

Huskies are for sure on the mid station, you should pay about 20BGN for 10 mins.

Exchange rate at the banks in Smolyan 2.31 in the resort max 2.25 but it is better than exchanging in the UK or so i am told. Tips: i purchased a few os those smallest mini cam things that are about size of your thumb (well mine at least) for 20GBP a bargain an fitted to helmits film some great coverage of the slopes. Ski gear in Primark is a bargain, also TK max and Asda. Chepelare Orion factory making ...

My swan song - e.g. last entry. Back from Pamporovo Sunday 14th. Stayed at the Murgavets Hotel. Fine hotel and staff very helpful. Watch the stair carpet between levels1 and ground. Torn and hanging off. Apart from that comfortable room 401 and kept exceptionally clean. Supposed to be a single but it had a 6 foot double bed. Food whilst quite varied was cool, I think a common complaint from guests in other hotels. Breakfast a whole mixture of cereals, hottish cook ups. ...

Food whilst quite varied was cool, I think a common complaint from guests in other hotels. Breakfast a whole mixture of cereals, hottish cook ups. Weiner sausage is popular but not for me. I would stay again. Bus picks up from out side 08.30 to 10. and returns from Piste from 15.00 hours on. Ski school excellent I had a chap called Denko. Improvers. Hundreds of beginners who start at the base by ski school 2. We had excellent snow and the slopes are not too challenging. Just too busy with the open legged brigade, snow ploughing all over the place. So one had to pick and choose a suitable gap where to pass. Skier in front has priority, yes you get the idiots and I was taken out from the rear by one - no damage fortunately. Treated myself to a Husky ride, well worth the 20L it cost me. Short and sweet, dogs are friendly. Food on the piste was better at least it was warm and a reasonable price. Our instructor would bring local spirits for us at lunch time - awful stuff burn ones throat. Sparkling wine and fluted glasses for our last day. Best day weather wise, we had this outside when he announced we all had our diplomas. CHEERS. In all a good ski holiday. Would I go back ? If it was closer to the airport (Sofia) as there is a 4 hour transfer. So travelling from Exeter to resort took hours, I could have flown to the USA.
Crystal Staff were excellent and helpful, there was always a Green Jacket somewhere to ski guide and give advise.
Hope you people yet to travel have a good week. Brian
