RakeshMy money is on that it will be sorted out before the end of the week let alone by the end of Jan.

go on google, put in Bansko+gas and click on Balkan travellers.
I can't vouch that it is correct as like you say there seem to be so many varying reports.
I rang Balkan hols this morning and they insisted everthing was ok! but they would wouldn't they?
i am aware there was a big meeting last night and the EU are now involved, so hopefully it will get sorted by next week. Hope wherever you chose is ok and you have a great hol. We went last year and had a fab time

bea... all godalas in bulgaria are diesel / electric... that is tt say on the boro lift it has two diesel engines one at bottom the other at mid station.. they produce the electric power for the lift .... no gas...

Good news on the BBC.Russia 'to restore gas to Europe'
The Russian gas giant, Gazprom, says it will resume pumping gas to Europe once independent monitors are in place to check the flow to EU markets.
Ukraine, whose dispute with Russia over pricing led to the crisis, said it would guarantee transit to Europe.
