Kind words from all - echoed sincerely by myself.

I may not have ever met you, nor have many of us on here - but it was your courage, strength, warm heart, and sheer pigheaded determination that brought about the massive response and aid to the welfare of these children, and without you as our figurehead - we too are lost.

Take a step back - and then do whatever you feel is right - we are all behind you.

You cannot change the way these kids behave as you are not in that position - but you can change the way they feel about their future. I 'm sure those lads are not wicked, but just thought they'd play a prank without thinking of the consiquences and it simply went terribly wrong.

I would like to think I speak for everyone in suggesting that should any medical bills be run up for his treatment - then it could come out of the money raised.

If not - I will pay it myself. Just make sure he is cared for and he gets the best treatment available.

I know what you are saying re removing the responsibility from those in Authority. You are right and this has been said to me so many times by others. However, as much as I love Bulgaria and the people who are so kind, for some reason they forget about these children, perhaps because most of them are from Roma origin, I do not know. Amanda is having a very important meeting to see if there is any chance of some funding for the heating but we are dealing with the Bulgarian Authorities !!! there is a lack of money (for this), so much red tape etc. Sometimes it is like knocking your head against a brick wall, several times!
It makes my blood boil when I see so much EU money going into the country and yet nothing for these children. Dont forget there are many more like Stoikite and some perhaps in a worse condition. More children are joining the orphanage every day and I think now there are about 68 with more and more coming each day and yet these children are living in such conditions. For anybody who saw the film of the orphanage in Mogilino, lots of money has been collected and Kate Blewitt has done so much. Lots of the children have been hospitalised and treated but at the end of the day nothing much else has changed. It SHOULD be the government's responsibility to look after them but I just thank God that I met Amanda and Andie and together with the help of good people on this forum and others we can make a difference to their lives, albeit very small.
We are removing the responsibility, but if we did nothing then these children would continue to suffer and the world would not know.
I have not spoken to amanda but yesterday I got an email from her saying that Doug is trying to get the heating going again (costing hundreds!) because she could only stay there for a couple of hours because it was so cold. These two people are real saints. Please let us all pull together and do not forget these kids. This must be an ongoing project until they do finally get help from the authorities - if ever

Please let us all send our good, positive thoughts to Slavko and just hope he gets better soon.

Please please please do not blame yourself for what has happened. You have done so much good and improved the lives of these children. If you need to take a step back and have a break then please do it as your health, welfare and sanity are important. Anyone with an ounce of compassion can understand your need for this and will support you and will keep the appeal alive. You have done so much to look out for these children but at the moment you need to look after yourself.

I cannot begin to imagine how you are feeling but do not blame yourself this wasn't your fault. Don't give up,there is hope for these children all the while people like you are encouraging others to help there is hope and if enough people help you things will improve and these children can be shown that they haven't been forgotton. Have a well earned break and never forget not only are you a strong and determined woman you are inspiration to the rest of us who would otherwise have done nothing.

Oh my goodness, how kind you all are, i am a blubbering mess and i do try to remain strong really i do. But life is just not fair for these children, what a cruel hand they have been dealt, they did not ask to be born. Andie just phoned phoned me and she and Carole have been my strength and now i now you are all my strength too and thank you for picking me up. I was always such a strong Character and nothing or no one could knock me down that was untill i was faced with these children against the Bulgaian beast (government and Bureaucracy ps it took me 5 mins to spell that one) There is millions of EU funding but it is almost impossible to access it. Thursday we meet with the director of EU funding but i fear it will not be a positive outcome. Please don't worry all costs re Slavcho and medicas i have covered. Doug is still working away and the second floor has heat, he is not a man to give up, it is temp fix but none the less benificial to these children. I will spend all next week with my own children, therefore please leave donated items at Mugevetts hotel with my name taped to it.

We will carry on but we are not even a third of the way there to the heating fund and we are all trying so desperatly, please help keep the fund going, this really is a worth while cause. Slavcho melted my heart the day i met him, this is why today i crumbled, he is special and i love him so much i do feel his pain, as you all feel mine, help me bring a little sunshine back into Slavclo's life please. Here i go again crying as i type, i don't know what more i can do to help raise further funds, but if you can help please, please do x x x

Yes I agree some of the blame must be taken by the Bulgarian Authorities, but we holidaymakers must also take some too. We visit their country, flash the best gold, clothing, think nothing of taking a thick wedge out of the pocket, boast of our big wages and how cheap it is in Bulgaria. Just TWO per cent are actually orphans in these homes, the rest are just dumped by parents, running away to make a better living. I do a courier service once a month into France, on the A14 towards Dunkirk there are streams of these people heading into Calais, trying to get to our Golden Shores. I have sent Pete cuttings from Bulgaria press over the past two weeks about the above. F.V.
