I agree Steve. One of the other benefits that Pamps has is that we don't need a cablecar to get to the slopes . I get in my car and drive 15 mins to Pamps ,get out my car ,put my skis on and i'm away. Last year i read that the same period i was there ,people in Bansko couldn't get up the mountain due to hight winds and the cablecar not in service . Mind you,you say that Pamps has less snow . I was there 25-29 Oct and there were still 3 FT snow drifts up at the Snowboardpark in Momchilovtsi ...

Its basic economics Nigel, investment to achieve visitor numbers, one will never happen without the other..
I suppose one attraction of Bulgaria is the difference between the resorts, when Pamps has snow it looks fantastic, but it has to have snow, on the note of October, we still have 30cm sat on the mountain.. and as to the cablecar not working because of high winds, this has never happened here, maybe the top lifts to Todorka which are exposed, but never the gondola...

It is a fact that Pamporovo has the poorest snow record of the 3 main resorts, and this has to be addressed, and by the looks of it they are. This has to be good for Bulgarian skiing, as are the improvements in Borovets, and the ongoing improvements here in Bansko... Im a fan of BG skiing, we will be visiting the likes of Dobriniste, 7 Lakes, Maleovitsa and Vitosha this coming season, raw cheap skiing and usually quiet, unregulated off-piste... all we need is a good snow season, fingers crossed..
