re: private tuition or group

Ski school is good fun, but you don't learn very much on your first holiday, as the groups are often quite big and can only progress as quickly as the worst skierin the group. This is because the instructor has to keep everyone together. I was in a like-wise position when I learnt, and invested in private lessons which I found to be more than helpful. I can now ski with the rest of my friends and family, and its great fun !

Simone,
How you learn to ski will be more of a personal choice.Private tuition is more intense but obviously you will pick it up faster. As for ski school the groups sizes vary greatly depending on how busy the resort is and the company you choose to book with.

re: private tuition or group

After just coming back from Pamps, 4 of our group had private tuition and 3 were in large ski school group. The private tuition was definately a lot better for progress as the main ski school had 16 in their group and things were a lot slower. If you are going to Pamps, try Interski and if you can ask for Daisy, she did fantastic with our group.

Is the instuctor we used, if its your first time you may find 2 hours lesson in either morning or afternoon would be enough, and then use the time alone to practice at leisure.
If you book a private instructor it will just be for you and your step daughter.
A whole day with one to one can be very intense and hard on the legs, this of course all depends on how quickly you take to skiing.
Good luck, I hope you enjoy it Very Happy

re: private tuition or group

It should be fine, I learnt at with my 4 year old son who now leaves me standing or sitting in quite a few cases !!!!
If you meet up with friends for lunch you will not feel left out, skiing is very sociable and everyone seems to chat to each other.
