If you are travelling through a tour operator then usually its better to book lift passes through them :
ie: Inghams and Crystal charge around £80-90 pre booked in the UK, in resort its about 250-280Lv (Exchange is approx 1.90-1.85LV per £1.00)
Ski and boot hire price in resort is approx 120LV-150lv maybe less if you barter, I am not sure on tour operator prices as we now have our own gear.
The important thing is to pre book your lift passes if you can
