samokov hotel borovets

we r thinking of booking samakov hotel for next year has any body been or any body had a look round it we have guessed the food is not top notch but wanted to know if its in good position for skiing ie. easy to get to slopes!
alsohow is its posistion for nightlife etc
we would be very grateful for any information

Very good location for the Gondala (the lift to half of the slopes in Borovets, one of the best for that. The other lifts leading to borovets other slopes is a far walk up the street, prob about a 10 minute walk, but still very acceptable.

Nightlife isnt far either, barely a 5 minute walk.

The hotel is very big, havent stayed there myself, but have used the pool and bar which was nice.

been there last year and going again in a week...
big hotel, food is fine also cater for veggies ok.
rooms are warm, staff are friendly enough and every thing is within at most 10 min walk... go for it!!

tip though... take dry suit for swimming pool, bit nippy

I WENT LAST YEAR IT IS PERFECT. 100M TO GONDALA AND 300M FROM THE RILA LIFTS. AND NIGHT LIFE 200M IF THAT HOTEL IS GREAT. THE FOOD IS OK ROOMS OK GOOD SPOT.DONT WORRY

just back from borovets samakov is ok in my opion but stayed at better freindlyer behind the samakov hotel a little place called resmys for those going out there check this place out for the food and cosiness v good snow conditions at the moment poor apart from the top station more on its way been informed

Rich, try my Holiday Report of last year at the Samakov on Skidvd.co.uk website.
Great Hotel right in the centre for everything, food etc good. Hotel ageing a bit now and would benefit from a refit but has everything you want.
