we went on an excursion to Rovaniemi. it was about an hour from Yllas. the santa park wasn't fab but the santa village which is part of that excursion was worth it. we posted letters from there too. this is in the artic circle so you also get your passport stamped. skiing was ok but we were beginners and my son had tonsillitus the day after we got there so we couldnt do as much as we would have liked.

we went on the mini dog sledding too. that was also good. you see the dog farm and if you are lucky they may have some puppies to show you.
snow mobile safari took us into the forest we saw wild bears and wolves it was great. problem is if you get a slow driver you get frustrated coz you want to get your foot down. get as near to the front as you can in the line up or near the back then you can slow down and speed up to catch them. its best at the front though behind the lead driver.

hi we went in 2006 and it was cold -34 and you need all the gear to keep warm you must do the husky dogs and the reighndeers we also did ice carting but best of all was hiring a snow mobile that was sooooooooooooo cool have a good time xxx ps the snow was up over my waist
