re: silver mountain appartments

Hi

I have also bought an apartment with MRI on the same resort, and am currently seeking another representative as I also feel Legal Independance priority is to MRI rather than their client.

I would be very interested in knowing what information you retrieved, and where we stand regarding the terms of the contract.

More of the same, and with MRI again... lets just say not the most reliable agency to set foot in Bansko...
The best course of action is to form an association of owners, assign a single lawyer to represent all, and approach the municipality regarding the granting of act 16, and the reasons for the rejection. Without the act local services like water and power cannot be officially connected, and the usage of the building is restricted..
Is the building complete ?? if not why have you paid ...

Seek legal services in Sofia, an established land/property expert and get a break down of their costs, a timescale, and a likelyhood of success....
People talk about rip off Bulgaria, but these types of agents have dragged Bansko through the mud, and in virtually every case they were either English, Scottish or Irish... Hopefully they will get their comuppence, especially MRI who i have heard are trading in Russia now, lets see if they can rip off a Russian Wink

I dont know about bulgaria, but in Spain good builders and will state GOOD BUILDERS, have a bank guarentee, this means if they go bust the bank completes the building and goes after the builder for the money, any outstanding money is then paid to the bank. I would do what Steve said and get togeather and pay for a solicitor as a group one will save you money and two shows solidarity.

If you have paid for a furniture pack, I take it the place is complete. You may lose your furniture pack ...

If you have paid for a furniture pack, I take it the place is complete. You may lose your furniture pack money as I would presume the agency has that in their bank. The buliders may be a seperate part and it might be you get the apartment. Good luck and I hope for your sake it all gets sorted.

This might be a long shot, but if you've paid any money by credit card then you could be covered on Section 75.
I do hope you get this sorted out. I had terrible legal problems associated with buying property in Bulgaria but got it sorted out in the end. So don't give up.

Hi
We are in a similar position, we originally purchase with MRI some 6 years ago on a Complex in Florida, 4 years later the builder went bust we lost about £50k, they said we could transfer some of this money to a property in Bulgaria - Silver Mountain, last year we were told that building work had stopped and they estimated it would take another 2 years to get act 16, they offered us another property in Aspen Heights but again wanted more money to do so, money which we hadn't got, so we ...

We now get an email saying that the Site in SilverMountain is going into Receivership, BUT we they have given us a €100k credit note to use against another property in either Turkey, Spain, Cyprus, Florida but again want another €5000. We are setting us a meeting with them. Any Solicitor contact details would be much appreciated.

I also purchased a property and lost around 80,000 pounds in the process. I would love to hear from people in a similar situation and if anyone has had any success.

re:silver mountain appartments

Hi I have lost £76000 on an apartment H302 in Silver mountain, as have a lot of other folks. I had a British lawyer look into my case as he had won similar cases but he was unable to help.
I think we should start up an owners group and see if we can get this project up and running again. If enough of you were interested it would be worth a try, I know I am. Please e-mail me
