re: ski holiday prices

flights at £500?? Is that per person?? We flew all 5 of us with EJ last season for less than that! Sure, you do have to pick and choose the flights but with private apartments you are not always restricted to the package change over days and so have the option to choose the cheaper flight.

I can get apartments here for £150 plenty of room for 2people as they sleep 4. EJ and Wizz flights get more exspensive the longer you leave it. As Matt said if you book well in advance like August the flights would have been much cheaper. Unfortunately some people cannot do this as they do have to wait for hol's to be authorised.

Oh and Matt send me your booking form as for some reason it keeps coming back as failed on our main email. I have resent on the site email but not sure if you ...

re: ski holiday prices

Flights were for two, they came out at around £300 so £150 each for the flight, but would need ski carriage and hold luggage for boots as they can be really funny about you taking them on board, plus the boots weigh almost the hand luggage allownace. this takes the flights to just over £500, so not that cheap,

re: ski holiday prices

Boots will go on as ski carriage in their own boot bag when you hand cases in. If you have paid for ski carriage this should be included as part of it. If you have twin ski bag both can go in one thats what I always did with me n my son.

Sam, I have booked Vihren Palace in Bansko for coming Jan, 4 star hotel with spa, pool, etc, their bus goes to top of gondola to bypass the queues, half board in a two room suite, lift passes and transfers also including ski ciarriage. All in for two of us £520 each.

Comparable holiday in the main alpine resorts £1000 each up to £2000+.

Bansko remains some of the best value you will find, I know I have tried to find it!!

Sam,
Sorry to be rude - but don't be silly. Are you just trying to make Bulgaria sound more expensive than it is?
Easyjet charge £55 rtn for hold luggage and ski equipt. That's £410 if the base price is £300, without sharing, which is very easy to do. Steve doesn't charge £150 rtn for 2 people, it's around £120 as above (and that's for a private transfer for 2).
So even if you did pay £220 for an apt and £300 + £110 for flights, that works out at £750 for 2. And yes - I think that ...

There's no point arguing about numbers - the fact is I have booked or helped friends book loads of trips to Bankso over the past 3 years and have never paid more than £250pp. Usually much less. You can't do that in the Alps.

Steve - sorry about the delay. Sent form now :-)

Matt

Bargains are out there if you look ,
Try looking at Thomas Cook web site
booked up for the beginning of Feb , Pamps , Half board , tranfers included , ski passes and ski luggage .

Total cost £645 for two adults basically holiday costing all in just a little over £320 for each person .
Not quite sure how they can do it at that price but i'm not complaining.
The beauty about Bulgaria if you decide to stop for somthing to eat & drink on the slopes you can grab a pizza and beer for ...

Matt

I'm not saying France is cheaper than Bansko, that wasn't the point. My point was that people harp on about how expensive France/Switzerland/Austria are so expensive as compared to BG, but dependent on your circumstances, it may not be the case.

It's like comparing apples and pears in many respects - they are very different resorts
