I wanted to try both but as husband paid for equipment hire have only boarded. After 4 years I am still rubbish at it but have never laughed so much on a holiday.

Boarding all starts to come good with confidence and not being scared to fall over,

So true, I always fall and hurt myself, will be buying new pants and hat with that new plastic foam stuff in that is soft but hardens on impact. Then just have to see what I hurt this season that will need protecting next season.

re: ski or board

hi,
i am fortunate enough to be able to ski and board and find that boarding is more challenging but more rewarding too! if u struggle with bad joints due to age or other reasons though - i suggest skiing as it is much easier to get to grips with.

when i learnt to snowboard, the first thing we learnt was 'how to fall correctly', enough said.....

lol

I am at the ripe old age of 43...well 44 in december Cryinganyhoo
i have skied for 5 years, but up untill last year where i decided that the boarders look like they are having more i decided to give it a bash, well the 1st couple of days are quite hard but once you have mastered linking turns it all falls into place. If you have patience give it a go,i do not think i will bother with skiing again, its boring compared to snowboarding and riding in pow if far easier on a board Cool

Just make sure ...

Just make sure you get some impact shorts and wrists guards and whilst we are at it,a crash helmet
