I would recomedn ti to everybody. but u have to remeber that snow boarding is a "extreme" sport so ur going to be on your ass and constently worn out. skiing is more of a lazy mans sport. But the main reason i didnt get on with snow boarding is that im dislexic and dispraxic so i am the most unquordanated person you will ever meet. so staying on a board is very hard.

Go on give it a go, you know you want to. I skied as a little kid then skateboarded and skied again when I could afford to as an adult, got into snowboarding in the early 80's and never wanted to ski again, it's mellow chilled and so much more fun, do your learning in a snowdome here, then pee easy on holiday, don't listen to your boys as I bet they fly wildly down the slope then as you say sit around, I'm 45, husband 50 and we cruise the mountain all day it's far more like surfing or ...

Everything about snowboarding is better.
Well said Niki.
I learned to board at 40 on the dry slopes at Rossendale in Lancashire.

I have been skiing for 25 years now . Decided to try a board last year at the ripe old age of 39 . The first 4 days were dreadful . The instructor nearly had the board rammed right up his .... Went out and got bladdered that night and decided to give it one more day . Had a blinder , and every day thereafter got better . Still enjoy the skis but will be boarding again for at least a week of my hol this winter.
