I do think it is so important to get a good instructor, we were chatting to a beginner gang in Bansko last year and felt rather sorry for their lack of progression over 5 days, on my return, I spent 3 yours at Tamworth snowdome checking out a new board and was astonished at how beginner snowboarders progressed on the Tamworth hill with top tuition. Really is worth having first lessons here if possible. Happy snowboarding
go for it, i learnt to snowboard on a dryslope in Ipswich 5 weeks before flying out to Bansko i was a ripe old age of 36, started with 8 in our group by the end of the course only 4 had survived and i was the oldest at the start and the oldest at the end, i have never looked back i go to Milton Keynes every chance i can get and have now started teaching my eight year old son who s totally hooked, one bit of advice i will give if you go for it buy some impact shorts.

Yes I've been to both Andorra and Bulgaria snowboarding, Boro & Bansko in Bul. and Arinsal in Andorra. Andorra was my first skiing experience and I thought it was fantasic, Arinsal is quite small and crowded but it is linked to Pal which feels alot bigger and prettier. Expensive when your there for food, drink, pass, lessons etc., Bulgaria is much better value, skiing just as good, only thing I think Andorra has over the Bulgarian resorts I found is the apre ski is alot better, with nicer, ...

Expensive when your there for food, drink, pass, lessons etc., Bulgaria is much better value, skiing just as good, only thing I think Andorra has over the Bulgarian resorts I found is the apre ski is alot better, with nicer, lively bars, hotels are alot better and the resorts are generally better run, but you get what you pay for. I've heard Soldeu is very good, wouldn't mind giving that a go one year if we get any desent snow. Hope this helps.
