re: ski passes and equipment hire

Cheapest way is almost certain to be booking with your travel agency if you have booked a package holiday. If you have booked independantly you can get a pass and hire gear at the gondola station.

Hi Pete

yes we have booked flights independently and the Hotel Lion, it seemed to have good reviews.
but I still need to book transfers and ski lift passes and ski /boot hire. You think it would be ok to leave it till we get there? none of the web sites seem to offer Bansko, are you familiar with the area or could you suggest a company ? Many thanks
Lynn

re: ski passes and equipment hire

Its quite ironic really, on one post i recommend Balkan Holidays as a place to visit for great deals on Bansko, (inclusive transfers/hire/pass/instruction) and it remains, and another where a member suggested that we may be able to help with transfers/skihire/passes etc and i reply, both the reply and the suggestion is removed...
Ah well, perhaps the `big up' for Skimania will remain... trust me to forget its not a public forum Mad

We definitely do Pete, nothing aimed at you personally, its all a bit silly really, there is plenty enough for everyone, and surely the first concern should be attracting visitors to Bulgaria, the reason why i would recommend Balkan for those looking for bargains, they can take some beating, especially on their inclusive deals...

We are discovering that many businesses are very insular, and fail to see the broader picture. English visitor numbers are down, though the trend is actually up, Ulen reporting a 6.5% increase over last season (and that with a poor season snow wise)
We have over the last 4 seasons identified reasons why the Brit numbers are falling, obviously the recession effects many, but other reasons are simpler. Lack of confidence in arrangements, the fear of being left at the airport, poor driving especially if you have children, hire and instruction, accommodation etc etc etc... We are a transport business, our concerns should be to collect and return visitors to the airport... but, we are the first contact when there are any problems, we are English so no language barrier, and we wish to provide service.. so, when we collect guests, they are able to communicate their concerns, and it is from this that we are able to alley their fears... Most would have been in contact for months explaining their needs... Information is king, because from this you can make an informed decision... All this takes time and energy (mostly Wendy) and obviously costs, but we continue because we feel that to instil confidence breeds confidence and ultimately benefits all....
So, regarding this forum ?, we do not blatantly advertise our services, we will when prompted by another poster provide information, but never prices, and generally both Wen and myself will make an effort to engage with any enquiry on the board if we feel we can help...
To whoever deleted the posts, if you feel so threatened that you need to delete information without the decency to contact with an explanation, then perhaps you should be looking a lot closer at the broader picture...
