Mid Jan usually fine and relatively quiet (mid-week especially so) with people being skint after Christmas. Where do you stay?

Many people have nothing positive to say about Scotland but on a good day (and they do happen!) it is fantastic.
Being local allows me to ski over 50 days per season as well as getting away for a few trips abroad - better to get scores of days skiing locally than to sit at home, slagging it off and getting none!!

Some people think it is expensive but Lecht is £22.50 for a full day - less than one hour in the fridge at Tamworth.

Check the centres websites for snow reports and webcam pictures and don't rely on the media as they only report on the 'death of snowsports' - often claiming there is no snow when there is really full cover. To some 'journalists' no snow in the cities = no skiing....... A bit frustrating really.

A good site for checking snow reports is www.winterhighland.info where you can also check the public reports.
