re: snow boarding

I have done both. I had a weeks worth of Skiing lessons when I was 15 and they did the trick and then wanted to try boarding so booked a taster lesson at Tamworth when I was 17. I did not have any further lessons after that as I picked it up really quickly but I put that down to skate boarding as a kid. I am 30 now and whilst I have gone back to 2 planks for an odd hour or two over the years, I still prefer boarding. (Not wanting to bring up the Skiers v's Boadrers arguement again!) Smile

I would tend to say that if you have skated or wakeboarded before then you will be used to going sideways and will pick it up quite quickly but as lizaloveit said, don't give up too easily!

Enjoy!

re: snow boarding

i think ill give snowboarding a bash, i was a keen rollerblader as a kid, half pipes and extreme stuff like grinding etc so a small degree of sideways there.

tried surfing when I was like 10 but could not get the hang of that, was good at body boarding though.i can ride on a skate board and turn but as for ollies and kick flips etc forget about it,

ive allways admired boarders and the way they move down the pistes so i have to at least try it. if im hopeless then i guess ill pay a fee ...

re: snow boarding

Nice one Shayne. Boarding does take a little more for starters but is easier to progress as liza mentioned
above

re: snow boarding

I learnt snowboarding in February last year, and picked it up in the 3 mornings i had lessons. Smile you have to stick with it though..as it takes a few falls before it clicks!. I've never tryed skiing before and still don't want to but we'll see about that in the future as I'm only 18!.
Went to bansko at Christmas, my second week and was hitting red runs! So you progress much quicker with boarding than skiing!.
I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. have a lush time!

Very Happy

just come back from pamps today. I stuck with snowboarding, realy couldnt get the hang of it on the 1st day but come day 3 I missed my lesson due to a hangover nd decided to go to the top of the mountain and learn the hard way from trial and error. come pm of the 3rd day i was carving down the slopes, all be it slowly. as the week progressed so did the speed of my carves, the last three days of the holiday were spent exploring the runs of pamps and having a blast at a few jumps. ...

LOVED every minute of it, will definetley snowboard again but in a resort with more reliable snow. pamps had snow to board on for every day but toward the end of the week it melted to slush, dumped it down with snow, iced up and then yesterday it rained.
