weather in Pamps now

The weather conditions are not what one would expect for this time of year. We are not experiencing the freezing conditions that are needed for retaining the snow in which has fallen during the past couple of days. Pamps only had a light fall of snow over the last couple of days and unfortunately the lovely warm weather that we had today is melting the new powder very quickly. What is needed is lower temperature and more snow. As we drove through Pamps this evening it was not looking ...

Better of in bansko. Had bad snow twice in pamps and bansko hasn't let me down in 4 years. Even when conditions aren't great there's still plenty of skiing to be had. Pamps is too much of a risk when i can only afford to ski once a year.

Most tourists have been moved away from Pamporovo to Bansko.

Bansko and Borovets have far better snow conditions than Pamporovo, which unfortunately has a great deal to do with Pamporovo PLC not making any effort to look after the snow they had.

The ridiculous dispute which has resulted in the snow cannon reservoir being drained has not helped.

I fear that this situation has banged another nail in the coffin for Pamprovo. And not forgetting that all tour operators are moving ...

Ok,

I know for certain that Thomson/Crystal/Balkan/Panorama have offered all clients to move away from Pamporovo. And as far as I here 95% of clients have accepted.

What evidence? Just say my info is quite reliable Wink

re: weather in Pamps now

I presume by your last comment that you mean they have stopped offering Pamps to people this year!

Surely they will be using Plovdiv again next year!

re: weather in Pamps now

Total rubbish.

You only have to Google Balkan Holidays website to see this ad for 2009.

Book online now for 2009 and Save from our competitively priced LOW COST flight deals to BULGARIA with flights to Sofia and Plovdiv & departures from most UK airports. Prices include in-flight meal, fuel surcharge and APD.

Not a very reliable source eh Norman?

It you can't write FACTS - then stop misleading people.

re: weather in Pamps now

We have just returned from Pamporovo this weekend and were looking to rebook for January 2009, we fly from Bristol - Plovdiv but next year this flight is not available with Balkan. Having to travel with two children the thought of the transfer time from Sofia - Pamps is a bit daunting. Our other option is to fly from Gatwick - Plovdiv which means a 3 hours journey this end. Are there any agents that are flying from Bristol - Plovdiv or any airport closer to the south west?
