Planning 1st skiing hol in Pamporovo next Jan. Worried about what clothing we'll need (ages 5, 13 and 5 adults)What do we hire/buy, UK/Pamp? Would like to know what people recommend from the skin outwards!! Sales coming up soon I hope.
Can't decide whether to go for Murgavets or Pamporovo hotels either. Having to cater for the needs of a 5 yr old and 3 sons who like a or two isn't easy!

Buy: Good quality insulated jacket and wear polo neck or tee shirt under, If it gets very cold increase the layers. Skiing can be warm work so if you get too hot open the zip but keep the jacket fastened with the velcro tabs.Sallopettes with insulation, gloves with removable inner, goggles, Woolly hat, and something to cover your face from chin to goggles because when it's windy you need it.
Recommend you buy here because you are going away to ski not shop!
I'd recommend staying at the Mourgavets, it right in the centre of the resort and all amenities will be available for you and the family. The Pamporovo is a lovely hotel but about 5-10 mins walk from the main centre of the resort. The Murgavets has been newly refurbished in the last two years and is really nice.
You'll have a fabulous time and hopefully another Bulgaria convert!
Hi Murgavets for sure. Was there last week for my 4th visit really good hotel in centre of resort nice and quiet as well I was on the 1st floor and no noise. It is not worth paying the extra for the Pamporovo because you only get a bigger room.
Murgvets is nicer and also quieter than Pamps.
if you want decent ski/board wear ellis brighams have got a 50% sale on clothing.
think rob bought pants from tk maxx, they lasted about 4 days i think ?
Don't forget a high-spf suncream, and sunblock for lips - even in January. And I prefer a thin waterproof jacket over a fleece rather than an insulated jacket, which is often just too warm ( although then you've got the problem of where to put the extra layer when you remove it...)
And a hipflask, of course.
PS Motorbike shops are a good source of warm undies, neckwarmers and stuff.
OI ignore all this lot. All you need is a cool hat. Once you have that you'll find that everything else just sort of falls into place. I spent 3 months finding the right hat. It was a foot and a 1/2 high wizzards hat with stars on it. Perfect!
People kept coming upto me on Scottish ski slopes and telling me that they recognised me as that "Idiot from Borovets!"
Instant fame....
