re: what do i need to buy

Thanks all! Booked today for Mourgavets in Jan 05. Soooooo long to wait.

Will look out for a hat but might have to leave that for one of the boys, (I'll be the one who makes an exibition of myself on the snow - won't need the hat!)

Are the lifts high? I'm afraid of heights.

Hi Chris ... I've got a bit of a height thing too (f'k knows why I've bungee'd and skydived then!) but I coped with the lifts most days no problem. They get a bit high in places but in the main, hug the mountain quite tightly.

Yes, I got my pants at TKMaxx and yes, they lasted till Thursday, but as carl said, it was my adventure that saw the end of them (didn't stop me boarding all day Friday with added ventilation!)

I'm in two minds about snowriding clothes. I've got a one piece ...

I'm in two minds about snowriding clothes. I've got a one piece North Face suit I bought years ago for skiing that, despite having me inside it throwing myself down mountains for weeks on end, is still in one piece and looking good. If only I could bring myself to wear it whilst boarding! I don't mind paying £30 or £40 for a pair of Salopettes that will only last one or two seasons, as long as they are capable of keeping me warm in Scotland during some heavy weather. I've hired boarding clothing before (in Australia .. long story). It cost me more than £30 and I had to give it back at the end of the week! For jackets ... buy something that you can wear off the slopes too! I don't mind paying slightly over the odds for a ski/boarding jacket if I can wear it on the high street too.

Chris

Look to purchase second hand off the net ebay is a good start I have bought plenty of stuff off of there, goggles, gloves, sunnies, jackets, socks, boots, skis, neck and face warmers.... All at auction prices got some for a real song some at an average second hand price.

Well worth a look
