which hotel to go for?

Hi.

Just returned from first Snowboarding in Aviemore (with 8 yr old) so all fired up to book a holiday for next year. Stayed in Malina Village some 10 years ago. Great location but food doesn't seem to have improved.
Looking to stay in a hotel and have narrowed it down to:
Finlandia (seems a little far out)
Morgavets (only hotel with good reviews for food)
Belmont (can't find much info on this)

can anyone comment on these hotels please.

Cheers.

PS We will be travelling with an 8 and a 5 year old. Is the kindergarten OK?

Hi there

goinf back to Pamps for the 2nd year. Mourgaverts this time out so will let you know - visited it last year for bar n stuff and it looks very smart and is very central for night life. Can also recommend the Snezhanka. Very cosey, great pool (but it nots heated, as aren't most Bulgarian pools)

Bulgarian hotel food is not the most exciting and with kids I can imagine it could be a nightmare! Thing is they do plain and simple and they honestly don't believe in serving it to hot! ...

re: which hotel to go for?

I,ve got one boy who eats meat and another who likes veg so I suppose they will survive. I do remeber the food being a somewhat surreal experience!! Wink

I have heard that the Murgavets can be a bit noisey!!!

re: which hotel to go for?

Murgavets is my favorite - I have stayed it the pamps hotel, Zora also and am going to the Perelik next week, but I dont think any will beat the murgavets.
you just need to make sure you are first off the coach get to the reception and ask them for a room at the back, I reckon by next year something may have been done about the loud music from the White Hart across the road, too many people will have complained.

re: which hotel to go for?

Murgavets is not noisy. The noise comes from the new pub across the road. Ask for a room at the back of hotel and you will be fine.

re: which hotel to go for?

Thanks for the info on the Murgavets.

Has anyone stayed in the Finlandia or Belmont. they seem to be quite close to each other and a bit out of the main town. Not much to choose between them apart from that the Belmont is almost new.

re: which hotel to go for?

Just back from Belmont which we all thought was fantastic. Just been refurbished this year. Food was fine for adults and older children - the younger ones seemed to survive too - lots of chips. Veggie options each night.

Bus goes from Belmont each day to slopes - start from 9 am - 10am and then again at 3 pm. Taxi about 14 levs if you want to go in your own time. You will need bus wherever you stay. I'd advise Belmont rather than Finlandia as bus starts at Belmont - most mornings ...

I'd advise Belmont rather than Finlandia as bus starts at Belmont - most mornings people at Finlandia had to wait for next bus.

Belmont has pool, spa centre, massage facilities, pool room. I'd advise you ask for room away from the ground floor(first floor) as the music goes on a bit at night and can be pretty loud. Those of us on first floor heard it as if it was playing in our rooms.

Skiing lessons fine for your kids. Parents and children can be taught together.

Hope you have a great time.

re: which hotel to go for?

Thanks karen

Did you book the Sking through a tour operator or through the hotel? Any experience of the quality of the Kindergarten (quality of ski teaching etc).

Is it possible to walk to the centre of town.

Sorry to pepper you with questions but am hoping to book tomorrow so need to come to some decision.

Cheers.
