I would think that for the Samokov hotel you are paying about the right money. I think you'll find that snowboard packages (lessons) are probably only 3 hrs per day and also only for 3 days so as you've paid for them you may as well go to the lessons as you'll have plenty of time to yourselves anyway.
Hi mate, going to book 23 feb for a week and 14 or 15 jan for a few quieter days I think coz can't do the 28th and then feb so might see you in jan for a quiet drink, take care Rigs
Hey Smed, welcome to the forum and as a fellow boarder, watch out for those pesky skiers ! If you have booked the improvers package I would recommend you take all your lessons. It will help your riding and confidence improve massively and, as EMJAY quite rightly says, the lessons are usually only a couple of hours a day and for half the week or less. The key to really enjoying your riding is sound technique and you won't learn enough of this at the fridges. Lessons are a MUST to get the most out of your limited time on the slopes. You're paying a fair wedge to get there so you want to be able to make the most of your time. Plus when you ride the slopes [even the nursery slopes] during lessons you get a much better 'feel' for the snow and your gear than you ever will at a fridge. Shame you are not coming out from 27th January, cos you would have been more than welcome to shred with our crew and you would have had a total blast. My tip, get yourself up to the very top runs, Markudjik, if you can as these are awesome. Also all the runs off the Yastrebets express are epic for fast on-piste as well as some tasty hits off piste, if you fancy a jump or two. Finally, if there is enough snow, try a fast run down the Marsala Pathway. The lower part through the trees on the s-bends, if taken at speed is just wicked ! Have fun, stay safe [sound advice from Snow Plough about not sitting in the middle of the piste - why do some boarders do this ?] and if you do have a good time, maybe 2014 you can join the shred crew for end of Jan / early Feb shenanigins
you will have a great time in Borovez. To improve your boarding you will need some more time, but enjoy your first ski holidays in Bg, the snow is coming with me and I will land in Thessaloniki on the 11., so latest at the 12. I'm in Bulgaria and we will have a lot of dancing snow flakes...
If I missed this I will spend you and your company a drink
