Re your question about taking your boots on the plane as hand luggage. When we flew last February (through Neilson's but I can't remember the airline) they were charging extra for ski / snowboard boots as hand luggage at the check-in. So we managed to get them in our board-bags. We did the same when we went back to Bulgaria in March, this time with Balkan. If you think you can pack them, then I would do this, but you could always check with the airline before packing. I think most ...

If you think you can pack them, then I would do this, but you could always check with the airline before packing. I think most airlines are getting stricter with regards to hand-luggage / cabin baggage for 'security reasons' - I guess.
