1st time boarder Borovets 2013

hi there,

me & my gf are looking to come to Borovets in Jan 2013, we have been looking & got a price of £1000 between us inc passes and everthing.
My question is the date is 12th of Jan, is that early for good snow condition or do you think we will be ok? We can go anytime really but fancy coming ASAP.

Thanks you.

Not sure if your £1000 is a rounded up price or not but unless you are at a 'top' hotel you can probably shave a bit off that price

Hi Smed

I am also coming out on the 12th Jan. All package deals have gone up by about 5% this year so I would say that £500 pound is about average at this current time for a central hotel (which one have you priced for?). I personally am going to wait a while and see if any offers come out in the next few weeks. Think it can be cheaper doing seperates but this is all dependant on flight costs (especially if you are bringing your own gear) and at the moment I am finding them quite ...

If you live near london then this could be a cheaper option.

Snow wise....historically the seasoon has shifted later into the year with the best snow being in late Feb early March HOWEVER last year there was MASSES of snow from Xmas onwards so its in the hands of the snow gods buts personally think it will be fine, dependant on your level there will always be something to ski.

See you there
Boon

hi mate, that was for Samokov, i live in chesterfield so closest airport for us is east midland, i think we are just going to book. as i dont think price is 2 bad!!
We are beginners really, we go to local snowdome once or twice a month but never been on a ski holiday.
Even if the snow is not great, will we still be able to board everday? thank you for any info.

cheers

Welcome to the board smed,

Firstly you say you have been practising on you trays sorry boards once or twice a month so you have the basics. Are you both going into learner classes if so make sure you have an all piste/chairs pass(if you have just a learner pass you will be restricted to the learner slopes) if you have the basic boarding skills then you should progress quite quickly up the run catagory and all the mountains.

If the snow is not great and depending on temperature plenty of snow cannons to keep things going.

One last request/rule. Boarders never sit in the middle of the piste Confused Manc Tom being a skier sits anywhere Very Happy

Have a great week, shame your not going Jan 26 plenty of boarders to help you along.

Yep, make sure you have an all piste ticket. As for boards plenty of places to hire boards there's Hunters who are based at the Flora Hotel. Also Rosaniglis (Spelling not good) based at the Ela Hotel which is straight in front of you looking out of the Samakov. To the left of the Samakov entrance just accross road 2 shops below the renown White Majic is an excellent board hire shop.

re: 1st time boarder Borovets 2013

If it's full package yes, but just check with agent when you book to be on the safe side. You can always take your boots.
