Okay guys - if you are all suffering from after ski-a-thong blues and fed up with all the negative posts about how ski resorts in Bulgaria have failed to live up to your expectations then here is something that will make all that seem quite insignificant.

I just had an email from Amanda who told me that she learned that Slavcho, Yuri, Rosonka and Albert had been released from the orphanage. The director said that they had reached 18 and had to leave, they were released on separate days without anyone notifying her. Although she pointed out that the records showed that neither Slavcho and Yuri were 18, the director said they had no birth records therefore they could not stay any longer. This is devastating news and Amanda & Doug have searched for miles showing photographs of Yuri and Slavcho without success.
For those of you that don't know - it is my understanding that these kids are released from the Orphanage/Institute without anywhere to go, no job to go to or money in their pockets. I will leave it to you to work out how they will survive now they have left the orphanage.
There is little more I can say now about this situation as I am so bloody angry and concerned about Slavcho in paticular. This, my friends, is what we are trying so hard to change by giving the kids a better quality of life, learning and life skills and money in their pockets when they leave.
re: BG is failing her forgotten children as well!!!
And people are moaning about it raining in Borovets, we should take a good look at the life styles we are lucky to have and stop moaning when it rains.

This was all done whilst Jasmine is away, she has her holiday break and is in Egypt. It is my belief that the director waited for Jasmine to go on her holiday leave and immediately to the necessary action. She is a calculated hard woman. I had plans for both boys and I really loved them and still do, it breaks my heart to think that Slavchos out there all cold and lonely, I heard a rumour that he is now in a mental institute in Bansko of all places, I will do some research into this. I wont stop until have found him. I don’t believe that any of the children left with anything other than the clothes they were wearing as their other clothes were still in their rooms. Yuri and Rosonka will most probably end up in one of the many Romany communities, Yuri is of Turkish origin an Rosonka is his girl friend. Albert will be easy to locate he is not medicated and suffers from severe epilepsy, therefore he will be hospitalised at some point. The one I really feel for is Slavcho he can’t communicate. It is times like these that I really do question my faith.
I am desperately trying to sort out solutions for aftercare, however things move very slowly here and you have to work with the Government, not against them or you will get no where.
I wish I had a magic wand; I wish that change was easy to implement. I know that I am not alone, so many people really cared about these children and they had not even had the enjoyment of meeting them, I was very privileged to be apart of their lives, it is not over yet, it can’t be. Am going to put all my efforts into finding Slavcho, for all the people care about him, if and when I find him I don’t know what I will do, but I will cross tat bridge when I come to it. I have to live with the regret of not giving him my address in Sofia. Life is so cruel and so shit. Sorry to moan to you, but I know you all cared too x
If anyone is gong to Bansko pleaase look at this pic of Slavcho and if yo see him please call me 00359(0)895485171

One good thing that have came out of this forum is The help for the needy.
I put my hat down for that and I believe it will get better.
The government has got the message I am sure-it is constantly, on a daily basis being bombarded with news from all sides about failings in this area.
Journalists are sniffing and placing articles more and more often in papers, radio,TV so in no time BG will take the right direction on this matter Dont worry.

Pete my Pc does not allow access to skidvd.
Mikey i know that change will happen, thank you for trying to lift spirits, I just wish that change was implimented a a much speedier pace.
I do believe in God and believe that the director is being looked upon and what goes around comes around, bad people have a miserable life and a sad end.

I'm sorry, but while I applaud your work in the orphanage, I find the heading 'BG is failing her forgotten children as well' it bit hard to swallow when you then start talking of 18 year old young adults being released from the orphanage. The word orphanage is in relation to parentless children, not young men and women who have reached the age of 18. Where do you draw the line, do you have people 18, 19, 20, 25... Still living there! Surely these would pose more risk to the children? What do ...

Surely these would pose more risk to the children? What do you suggest the orphange does when they reach 18? Do we have any 18 year olds in English orphanges? There are plenty of 16 - 18 year olds in the UK without anywhere to go, no job or no money in their pockets!
Get real!
