I got 2.51 from a bank last week in Bansko & 2.57 from an exchange place in Borovets

so dont jump on everybody when posting negative opinion and hope that people will listen.Actually the way i see it is only after a sharp deep in tourists coming to BG for good few years the locals will start to get their acts together.Until then you will be left with the BGlovers and hardcore ones.

bulgaria does need to listen but as previous posts have commented it is not such a bad place to learn to ski "at the moment" i myself have done this but i do now look forward to spreading my wings to mountains with lots of runs on and equivelent prices.i do find it comical when the resort is blamed for having no snow!!!!!!!
I will return to borovets some time in the future as i personally did not have a problem with it

Everything works in mysterious ways in BG.
As for the snow -well when the resorts are low and the runs are limited what do you expect.
Nobody invests in a ski resort lower than 1600m.in Bansko they invest in 900m above sea level,Pamp-1400-1500 and Borovets 1300.Guess what is happening with your investment if any.

Must be very hard for Pete to say that. I have been living/working in Bulgaria since 1997 and we have seen the things change slowly over this period (some for the worse and some for the better).
But dont knock it, it may not suit everyone, but what in life does. Just because you didnt enjoy it doesnt mean the next person wont. Just dont be rude to someone because they had a bad or good experience
Go with an open and happy mind i am sure you will enjoy it.

Does any of the decision makers at these resorts read this forum? Would we be best directing our concerns towards those who have influence? If yes, who are they and how can we contact them.For example would the Mayor of Smolyan have an interest in this?

good point forest nooky(not gonna ask about the name!).making reasoned crtisicism here is one thing but no good if it is restricted to onlt the few that read it
