Pete - Absolutely gutted for you and I know I would feel the same if I was only here for a holiday. All I can say is book slightly later next year or...leave it till last minute and if snow is like it was last xmas (08 / 09) then get a last minute deal. Hopefully next year, there will be plenty of deals to be had based on the snow this year.. Have a safe trip home!re: Borovets - 5th Jan - GOOD NEWS!!
Mojo94 - will probably catch you up there but no need to say thanks. My 'real' work doesn't start properly until next week, so not had much to do as no skiing to be had - I also know how it feels sitting at home not knowing what's going on!!

A quick update - there is now about 15cm of snow on the Sitnyakovo Express - the first time it has been skiiable for about 2 weeks!! There are still quite a few stones though, so people just need to be careful. Also, it hasn't been pisted, but can't say if that is too save petrol money(!) or because there's still not enough snow and pisting will simply make it worse... Conditions are not great, but I suppose that's better than very poor!!
In addition, Markudjik 1 was only open ...

Hi Kas, thanks for the REAL updates of the snow conditions, so good to hear good honest reports. I will be travelling with my family on 20th Feb and this will be our first time in Bulgaria. We are stying at the Yanakiev Hotel in Borovets.Cheers

The Yanakiev is really nice Jo. Right on the slopes - ski in / out as long as there's snow!! We are getting married there in June, although as of yet, haven't tasted the food, so if we don't eat there before you, you'll need to let us know in case we need to change the venue!!re: Borovets - 5th Jan - GOOD NEWS!!
OK - now I am not so worried about the snow there, I can now start to worry about the snow here - just looked and lots forecast for Saturday when we are flying - now we just have to make it to Bristol airport.caz

Kas I think your not going to have to buy beers for sometime to come. These reports are invaluable to everyone coming out soon. Spirts are lifted and so will be glasses. Thank you for keeping us all updated.COME ON SNOW!
