Morning All... Finally can give you all some good news!! IIt started to snow heavily in Samokov about an hour ago and has been snowing for a bit longer that than in Borovets. There is about 5 or 6cm of fresh snow in Boro and is still snowing heavily -ie: what the locals would class as 'proper snow'!! It is also forecast to continue snowing like this all day (although that's only a prediction) and the cannons are also on as it's xxxxx freezing here!!! The snow conditions however are still very poor, so although there are more lifts working today, people really need to take care (as per PP's post) as there is not a proper base yet and lots of rocks / bare patches etc. Saying that, the following lifts / runs are open:
Gondola is open
Markudjik 1 - is open (first time this season, as is the nursery slope, although markudjik 2, 3 and Musala pathway are still closed.) The conditions over here though are still pretty poor.
Yastrebets 2 and 3 open and conditions are very good - due to snow cannons. Getting down to 2 and 3 though is still poor.
Rila slopes - 3 x drags are now open.
Sitnyakovo Express is open to skiers again, but conditions are poor.
4 man chair in front of Rila is still closed as are the pistes there, except for those off the Sitmyakov Express.

So, although not perfect, things are defo looking up!! If you have any more questions, just shout!

p.s. please ignore reports from people at home 'guessing from the webcams as this is direct from the resort and with no business(es) here, I have no reason to make it up and just trying to give the 'real version'.
