re: Borovets

Jim, Depends what time you go to the gondola. At the wrong time there will be much longer queues and longer waiting times. Quite a few of the beginner ski school classes tend go to the gondola at the same times during the week.

re: Borovets

Its a little concerning that a poster such as `steve' with a post total above 2500 should make such remarks ????
I could log in as `steve' actually and make any remark i like Wink

Could be a case that the admins could look into, password protected log-in ???

re: Borovets

There is a great difference in the places but Canada is alot dearer Laura25 is right with prices I know what it is costing me, but they do have better slope/lifts organisation but you are paying for this as lift passes are expensive, which puts the cost of the holiday to Canada up. BG is at a realistic price and given alot of people the chance to ski and availabilty varies between the resorts to slopes, but the main thing is you go to where you enjoy skiing and meeting people who to share ...

re: Borovets

And whilst we are on the subject of comparison, why bother ???
Bulgaria will be to my mind never in the running when you start to talk about Canada and N.America, premier resorts within Europe either. BG has one thing basically, it offers value for money, and not a lot of money. For your money you can fall lucky with good accomadation, service etc and even snow Wink
To say that as an individual you are never going to return, prefering to spend more, and travel further, for guaranteed ?? ...

To say that as an individual you are never going to return, prefering to spend more, and travel further, for guaranteed ?? snow and five star accomadation and service is a little short sighted... go to Banff, enjoy it... but what about a little break with the lads skiing for a few hundred quid ??? as an extra Razz
Just a thought Booze

Steve c
I Know where your coming from if all the posts was the
same as steve,s bulgaria would have a promblem.
but 90% are not ,We go skiing 3-4 times a year just come back from tignes i would not compare the skiing there to
bulgaria but some would We now save borovets for our last ski holiday every year ,not because it,s the best skiing
it never will be ,but we enjoy it the most.I Think when you go into the euro that may be a problem. Hopefully not Booze

re: Borovets

Im sorry tommygun, did lose the thread there slightly... so a belated `enjoy Banff tommygun' just to fuel your memories...
I've never actually been to Blackpool, im sure i would enjoy it as it seems by your description that `certain types' go there, so i would be right at home, it would make a change from Costa Rica, which is getting really `passe' now Wink
I'll drop daring red a line about the `dekkie' Razz
