My suggestion is to not go anywhere near this place.The runs and skiing are poor, you are bothered by touts all the time and the hotel Samokov ripped us off on the last day. We asked to keep our rooms for a few hours after check out, they agreed but tried to charge 30 levs per room as we left. When we refused to pay they threatened to call the police.
Cheap..and as the saying goes..you get what you pay for!
I for one will never go back.

I agree with 'you get what you pay for', but with Samokov offering £100 per person half-board for a week, not sure what else you were expecting...!!

stayed in samokov 4 times never a problem Steve, might have caught them on bad day maybe

I,VE stopped in the samokov several times always been good your find most hotels will charge extra for that

i've stayed in many hotel, both in england and in europe and i've never known a hotel NOT to charge you for a late check out. and at 30lev = about £15 i wouldnt grumble at all.
i've never been to bulgaria, i've read both good and bad reports on here, hotels are cheap, what the hell do you expect? i know i'm going certainly with a open mind, and i'm sure what ever happens, for the £200 i've spent, as long as my room is clean and warm, i dont care!!!!
and the skiing.... well ...
