Ask roy castle? no disrespect to roy castle but how can i ask dead people their opinion on smoking.
One of the biggest carciogenic (cancer) causes is the motor vehicle and the second is fumes from gas cental heating. Both of these also cause smog.
Mind you i'm a bomb disposal technician what's going to kill me a fag? don't think so.

I don't smoke, I prefer to come out of the pub not smelling of smoke, but it's each to their own. I doubt that a week of passive smoking would have long lasting effects, and for those that really object, there are total non-smoking bars to be found.
Often this is a question of what is deemed socially acceptable for both the people affected by it and the people doing it. It can be smoking, swearing profusely or rowdy behaviour.
Swearing - some people just don't like hearing crude language especially if they have young kids in tow.
Rowdy behaviour - The possibility of it escalating into physical violence is understandably a fear for most normal people.
Smoking - as said above makes clothes,skin and hair smell if not stink ...

When I went to Boro I knew about the smoking beforehand so I took additional items of clothing I wouldn't have packed if going to a 'smoking ban' country/resort.
Personally I don't like smoky places but I'm on he fence reagarding a ban in Bulgaria because it's NIMBY.
