After 3 years going to Borovets we are going to Les Menuires in the 3 valleys on the 5th of April in a fully catered chalet with private airport transfers for £425 each
you'll have a fab time - we were in vt at the top - stunning views fab snow & so much fab food in the catered chalet we only ever needed a hot chic & a cereal bar @ lunch. There was tea & cake as soon as we got in from skiing & then a 3 course evening meal.
Was in Briancon this year and had a day in les Deux Alpes - its busy with beginners but has a huge range of pistes and things like 8 man high speed lifts that turn a 200 metre queue into a 5 minute wait. La Grave is also just over the mountain for very good skiers so it really does have everything. Food was a bit pricey - we paid 14 euro for a deeply unspectacular cheeseburger and I would take a packed lunch as all the French do (including a bottle of red, the stereotypes). Would ...

Would definitely consider a package tour there - the highest skiing is 3600 metres so the snow was exceptional, even if breathing was a bit hard. A hire car for a few days is a good idea as there are loads of resorts within 40 mins drive.
just came back from boro at the weekend, my first time there to be honest you get what you pay for some people say it's cheap some say it's expensive, there wasn't much snow/slush but did have a good time dispite this, but if you compare it to sunshine and lake lousie in canada where i was in jan for 2 weeks where the lift pass comes in at around £450 (for 2 weeks) but with this you get excellent service, 3 resorts to ski and excellent lifts( they even slow them down if you ask at the bottom ...

For those looking for the 'new' boro check out Romania. I have just returned from there and had a blast. Ok the ski resorts aren't huge and a bit primative but food prices are still really cheap. I went to 4 different resorts Sinaia, Predeal, Azuga and Poina Brasov. Poiana Brasov was the more expensive but a beer was still 50p on the slopes
