hi m we are also going on the 23rd march.you have lots for snow on the top of the mountain ,if you book for december it is likley that it wont be as packed on the top of the mountain.there is snow coming but how much is anyones guess the weather is turning colder so more chance of the snow cannons working,go on you will have a great time.
Unfortunately, it is always a gamble with nature. It's been known for no snow in Europe at Christmas.
There is currently 1m+ of snow on the top. The Bulgarian Ski Team use Borovets in April for trials and competitions as there is always snow on the top and very few tourists.
If there is 1m of snow on the top, how come the dirt is coming through some of the pistes? There is a good hard pack and the top is 1000 metres higher than the resort so temperatures are rarely much above freezing. Late snow is a feature of Bulgaria but if you are beginners there will be more than enough for you to use even if there is nothing more before the end of the year. Additionally, there is rarely much snow in December - it was extremely early this season.
m, me amd the kids have been out 2 of the last 3 years and had lots of snow around Easter. We plan to do the top runs after 2 days of lessons this year as it looks like theres not a lot of snow at the bottom and none forcast.
there are training slopes at the top and they are great fun. Were out on the 23rd staying in boro and still looking fwd 2 it.
Its true what has been said by others. Last year around this time there was hardly any snow in the village and the bottom by the Rila was just mud. Up top there was loads of snow with nice gentle slopes for beginners.
