Bulgaria Ski discussion board

ok. Ok. Folks settle down . There is clearly too much emotion in the above posts. The Bulgaria lovers with or without snow are getting into a battle with the people who have spent all year saving and praying for 6 or 7 days of white gold. I was boro last week and as many have pointed it was ok but no where near perfect. I know that since we have conditions are worse still . The future forecast also bears no good news . So then my advice is easy.

A) stop the sniping!!!
b) if you are a snow nut or desperately want that week of white I suggest that you read your brochure t&c's and or ring your operator.

You will find some wild differences between companies. Some will let you change to any destination provided you leave on the same date pay a 30pound transfer fee and pay the difference between holidays....

However some will charge you a 80per cent cancellation fee if you wanna
move it. You should have checked things like this when you decided to save 4.50 by going with company 'x .

C) grin and bear it. Spend the week in the bar ski when you can and look happy if the snow god drops an unexpected lot!!

I can not see where you are coming from at all. I go a summer holiday to the likes of Mauritius to get away in the sun and get a tan. I'll go a long weekend to somewhere in the UK like Cornwall to get away from work. In the winter i go a ski holiday to SKI as much as dam possible. It is dissapointing that there is lack of snow and i'm to dam devastated to grin and bear it, lol I've just waited a whole year for the skiing and Bulgaria lets me down. Its booked though, we're not changing or cancelling it and i'll just pray that it snows crazy one day or night.

Still, cant be as bad as Scotland. They had great snow on Wednesday. No snow at all by this afternoon.

Oh, and i'm looking forward to sitting down and having a nice cold

Well, the report from today is that the Yastrebets runs are mud and the lower parts closed. The remaining upper pistes are patchy. The top is slushy, busy and heavily cut. Its just about holding up and with some good grooming could last a little longer but people are falling all over the place in the heavy snow. Essentially the whole resort is skiing on the top. No idea about the Rila side but I imagine its a disaster. Queue for the gondola at 10 was horrendous and I imagine the 100% download as bad (we went off piste which was amusing and gives me a new reason to service my skis).

The good news is that it is forecast to get cold and snow, warm up next week and then get cold and snow again the following week.
