Bulgaria needs to change and stop trying to take people for a ride ,if there is no snow at certain times of the year , year after year then let people know. Its unfair that in these difficult times that BG does not have the decency to let people know how poor the resorts are as well as the poor infrastructure. Go somewhere decent
Des- this has to be the holidays selling responsability rather than the resort- most folk will look to reseach their holl before booking, either here or trip advisor which gives plenty of info as to what to expect.
When did you ski Bulgaria-where did you stay- would be interested in hearing your comments
Its not necessarily Bulgaria that needs to change but perhaps the tour operators trying to squeeze every possible week out of the ski season. There are numerous sites that show the weather forecasts, snow depth and average snow for that time of year. The onus is therefore on you, the client, to do your research before you book.
If there is snow then why not grab a last minute holiday? The budget flights are there and there are plenty of apartment owners with last minute availability.
I completely agree...people do need to do their homework ... We are coming out on the 5th Feb and i cant wait snow or no snow.....and you get out of it what you put into it...what ever happens its an adventure.. and its not the uk..

Re the 'numerous sites that show the weather forecasts, snow depth and average snow for that time of year' - some of these reports are utter lies - according to iglu-ski, Borovets has had 276cm of snow this season, with 63cm falling in the last 7 days - who ever puts this info on the web - what are you smokin? I was there from 26/1210 to 02/01/11, and whilst the snow cannons were opperational on 3 runs, we had no more than 6cm of snowfall in the entire week (and 6cm is probably an ...

The snowforecast website changes its mind every few hours too. Also, there are many of us that can't wait for a last minute deal due to party size.
Hi all,old and new,I agree that Dec/Jan can be a bit iffy, but i have been to Boro 8 times in the last six years and have always managed to ski.If you are a beginner you get a chance to try skiing at a reasonable cost and you don't need loads of runs to learn,on the other hand if you are experianced and want to clock up as many miles as possible each day then Bulgaria isn't for you anyway,I always used to go to the Alps and it was flat out skiing every day then early night to recover.

Im in the other camp where i love skiing but also love a Holiday so as long as i can get a bit of skiing in and then have a laugh at night i'm happy.
To say you shouldn't go to Bulgaria is just totally opinionated, years ago all my skiing buddies used to laugh at Bulgaria, myself included, but one year when nobody wanted to go skiing I booked a last minute hol to Boro,it was cheap and I thought sod it i'll give it a go,what I learnt was although Boro didn,t have the best skiing,I had the best skiing HOLIDAY ever and have never looked back, sorry to waffle and i do agree the forecasts are a waste of time Rigs
PS I can remember skiing down from Courchaval to La tania early Jan and emerging at the bottom covered in mud,so at the end of the day do your research pay your money and make your own choice, just don't listen to Des (or me)
