French Resorts

Hello to everyone in Bulgaria Ski! Just popped on the site for the first time this year and I see I'm late!!

Me and Mrs Griffin have been to Bansko for the last 2 yrs and had a great time (apart from the Greenpeace thing!!). We've decided to have a break from Bulgaria this year and probably head to France.

We're looking for an Alpine resort that will have snow in the actual resort. We're also trying to avoid any of the REALLY popular areas like val d saire (sp?).

Does anyone have ...

Does anyone have any ideas. (We're both intermediate skiiers)

P.S. Lovely meeting you last year Pete - great putting a face to a name. Hope this finds you well.

Hi Pete - great to meet you guys too - welcome back to the site.

I skied Tignes a few years back and it was fantastic - so many slopes and snow everywhere.
Bit more laid back nightlife but well worth a visit mate.

Have you thought of Italy? we did Courmayeur a few years back and such a pretty village atmoshphere, bars and superb mountain cafes, very laid back, loads of snow and delightful people, no pushing at all. I did Bansko so I can compare it.

Cheers for all the advice. We were looking at those catered chalets, seems to be the way to do things oin france. The thing is, obviously dont wanna get lumped with people we dont get on with. Could ruin the holiday maybe. We'll just have to reasearch more! Anyone know a forum for french resorts?

I cant believe its nearly skiing time again! This forum really helps to get me in the mood!!

Just got to find somewhere to go now!!
