Maybe the greed is ours.We want better and more lifts, more snow cannons, more slopes, better hotels, and better food,
All of which has been forthcoming and is still increasing and yet we don't want the prices to go up!

PP, I've got to disagree with you on that post, the way business works is that the companies make the investment in the infrastructure etc and when the customers see that there is a good product, they come and spend their hard end cash. I dont think they can expect you to pay for the infastructure before its in place. Normal practice is this kind of investment is paid back over a period of time once the facilities are in place and proven to work. Not anymore reasonably priced destination in my opinion.service not good and the lift structure lacking plus other traditional destinations blessed for 2 years with perfect condition and getting flexible And reasonable ot the pricing

Didn't go to Bansko this year, (mainly because I seem to have a part share in a building site that has had no further work done for a year and it upsets me). However was these last season and I don't think the people will have altered that much.
If you are going to drink in the hotels you will pay hotel prices, its as simple as that, go to the Mehanas and where the locals go and you will pay considerably less, common sense I would have thought.

OK sometimes greed does come into it, I appreciate that but, as someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, just walk away, take the custom elsewhere.
Personally I'm digging in for the long haul, I love Bulgaria and think, given time it will improve. If thats looking through rose coloured spectacles then so be it.

As an annual visitor to Borovets, this season the prices were 50 to 60% higher than the year before (in resort) however, 20 mins down the road to Samokov and the prices were around 5% higher than last season. These figures were agreed also by 3 personal Bulgarian friends, so it’s not just me plucking figures out of the air.
One of my friends, who happen to work in finance, clearly stated that the owners of businesses in resort used the entry into the Euro as an excuse to hike the prices. ...

I admire youre dedication to the cause dave, but to come out with comments that are claearly untrue is doing yourself or your arguement no favours. I think this has been the first post i have seen on this and other forums stating that the prices havent gone up.
