Been to Soldeu twice and have to say had a great time, couple of resorts linked together so loads of skiing, as for being barren, well its no diffenent from anyother resort, wide open spaces at the top with plenty of tree lined runs further down (Boro spings to mind with that discription) ski tuition is second to non with the English run / speaking ski school being voted one of the best in Europe, and the Apres-ski is every bit as good as Boro or Bansko, been to both of those so am not ...

Yes the transfer is a pain but no diferent from Plodviv to Bansko really,
PS food is better as well Smile

re: Has anyone skiied in Andora?

Went to Pass De La Casa in 2000. Thought the resort was souless, a concrete jungle with little character. Was cheapish though and plenty of good food - tried snails and frog legs there for the first time Wink Snow was good but the mountain was just a rock, nothing like any other resort I've been too. Would never go back there.

Didn't mind the 3 hour transfer - pretty used to it having been to Whistler a a couple of times and Lake Tahoe

Fantastic - no - amazing ski / boarding on the mountain (Heavenly) and the lake was stunning. We had a great time but we really didnt like the town though - small town USA with a few casinos Sad

You didnt really think you would get a honest answer on a site sponsored by the Bulgarian tourist board did you old chap.

Well, before they delete this read on.....

Been to Andora a couple of times, pas de las cas I think was the resort. The ski lifts etc are all very well maintained, the runs are well marked, well groomed and there are plenty of bars etc on the slopes, the resorts are all conected by lifts so you can ski for around 30 km if you fancied it.

Its all you would expect ...

Its all you would expect from a decent resort. The food is poor in the main town.

I would give borovets 2 out of 10 overall and andora 7 out of ten overall.
