Helmet cams ?!?!

Did a quick search on amazon and bought the cheapo version - ArmPod XL Extending MiniPod (T-100)

Also got a suction mount and a gorilla pod ... for around £15 all in!

Was in Glasgow city centre today and shot some footage from the top of the lighthouse. Just plugged the cam straight into the HDMI port on the TV and it looks amazing, although weirdly, I think the 720p @ 60fps looks better than 1080p @ 30fps

Hey Robert,

Where did you get your wide angle lens from? The only place I can see in the UK is via ebay. I assume it's the Opteka unit?

How's it going with the camera? I've plumped for one and just waiting for it now...

They're from a company called deals extreme in China. I'm not recommending them yet as they haven't actually turned up and can take up to a month to arrive, but my tracking number says that they are in the air right now.

This guy does a wee video demonstrating one of the ones I've ordered.

Stick a magnetic ring on your camera, round the lens, then just chop and change at ...

The camera itself is great, although give it a big long charge before using it. Kept cutting out until I left it charging overnight. Also I've noticed that it only gets a quarter of the charge from the PC as it does from the wall, but that's maybe just my hub.

Other than those very minor things it's brilliant. Had it at exscape the other day and it handled the snow/bright lights brilliantly, plus love the fact that I can film underwater (just in the bath so far and NOT putting that footage onto youtube!)

Chers Rob,

I got my PlaySport on Saturday. Got what I thought was a class 10 card as well - turns out it's a class 2 which is my mistake when ordering. Right pain to return now as I've opened the packaging

Camera is great through.

I'll get the wide angle on order if it takes that long. I've will try a helmet cam mount as well. I know it looks stupid plonked on your head like that but at least it will distract from my "let's all meet up in the year 2000" jacket :-)
