Hotel Iceberg is on the main road into Borovets, as borogirl says about 50 metres before the gondola station. It is on the same side of the road as the Samokov hotel rather than behind it. It was due to be finished in Dec 08 but when we were in Borovets, 1st week in Jan, I believe that people who had booked to stay there were in the Rila. Our friends work in the poolside bar at the Iceberg and they only started there about 2 weeks ago after waiting ages for the bar to be finally ...

Would check first that the hotel is fully open. Does look good from the outside though. We are back across on 1 Mar so hopefully we will both get good snow.

That is brilliant and SO helpful guys, thank you!The location seems good enough then, but perhaps it is so cheap (£518 for both of us on lastminute.com) because the hotel is not completed yet..
Hmm, more research is needed methinks!

Spoke to someone last week in Borovets, they had a last minute deal staying in Samakov hotel £225 half board + lift pass. Check out travel companys on web.

didnt know it was open yet, its at least 200m form the gondola as we are about 100m away and its at least 100m further down the road. Its actually an apart hotel, as a lot of the rooms are individualy owned. It does look really nice though, rather than some of the new builds. Its closer than the Villa Park Apart Hotel, and as said is on the left hand side as you come into BorovetsHope that helps

Thanks Fraser. Wondered if that was Bulgarian metres as I couldn't think where it would be that close to Gondola

Hi all,I can confirm MickyT . Was in Boro round Christmas and NY. . Iceberg is "unther" Samokov / ELA at the same side of the road. End dec. / beginning Jan. they were still working to finish the building. !! inform very well before you go !! Nice looking building ( don't like the colours though / beige/brown) Super location, close to gondola.

I spent some time on the internet looking for Lisa and found no reviews, quite a few photos and usual marketing blurb Looks interesting and I'll have a nose when I'm over there
