Just came back from my first trip to Boro (Feb 14-21). Was extremely worried, but despite the forecast, the very first two days, didn’t stop snowing. Over the weekend the temp. dropped to -25C, the Yastrebets runs were deserted, but for me, the skiing conditions (snow) were great. The last two days, the temp. shot up. and the snow became somewhat mushy.
Alpin is by far the best place for happy hour (5-7).

Every restaureant offers a full dinner with soup, salad, main course and wine for 15 to 20 euros.
Boro is very touristy, but is a pleasant place with excellent Red runs.
Just back
Met great people
Had fantastic skiing and instructor from samokov ski school

Prices have doubled since then especially the places on the pistes further up. typical prices - hot choc 6-7 lev, chips 5 Lev, coke 4-5 lev. stayed in Bor hotel, beer prices very reasonable there - 3 Lev for large beer or wine, food Ok - depends how fussy you are !!

Hi Everyone
Came back from Boro on 16 Feb - really good week, plenty of deserted runs at the top. Been before several times - last time 2 years ago. Went out to eat and drink a few times, good place Alpin bar opposite Flora - 3.80 Lev for 2 large beers - serve food too - excellent ! Ate in the White Magic opposite Samokov - good grub. Be aware though that chips, extra sauces etc are 5 Lev on top of price of food. We had chicken with sauce (included) - 17 -18 Lev (add 5 Lev for chips or whatever). Steaks about 23 - 27 Lev. Just thought these prices may come in handy if you want to work out your budget ! Have a great time - I did !!

Lunch on the slopes - we usually had a chicken burger ( freshly cooked chicken and salad) a drink and shared some chips. One day I had soup, roll and chips and it was the same as the burger
most days worked out at 18-20 levs each about £7-8
Stayed in Ice Angels half board and ate there every day except one. We often ate the starter and salad as our mainc course. There was always fruit and salad.
Breakfast had cerial (limited) nat youg, cold meats and cheese toast jam ...

Breakfast had cerial (limited) nat youg, cold meats and cheese toast jam honey (no marmalade) scrambled or fried eggs frankfurters and something different each day like fried cheese or meat or pizza! Oh yes and toast with brown or white bread.
Dinner - salad was usually with cheese and olives (yummy) but you could have plain, starters always included a spaghetti dish, something fried (cheese meat) plus a couple of other choices. You then chose one of 3 options as a main meal which was meat or fish with potatoes ( boiled chips or mash) desert was a choice of 2 options.
We found it quite ok. If you eat Bulgarian and eat lots of salad you dont miss vegetables quite so much!
Glynis
salads are usually(always) vegetables. if you spend for a soup, roll and chips 18-20 levs that is 8-9 pounds and is pretty expensive for a snack dont you think glynys?
The locals have to get the reality check with less customers and thin profit at the end of saeason before prices are corrected downwards and quick before customers leave for good BG resorts.
Agree with everyone else that the bars and cafes on the slopes are overpriced - the ones at the top of the gondola barely even attempt to disguise thier mafia ownership anymore. The White House especially I suggest you give a wide berth to with ridiculous prices, poor quality food and obnoxious staff.
Places that we found enjoyable were Katy's Pub - great value breakfast, good wine and a nice steak n chips for dinner, The Pines ,bottom of the black run, not cheap ...
