Look on the bright side Pete, the resort will be much quieter, which I am sure much like you remember, and preferred!

re: Is Pamporovo finished?

As usual on here too many people won't accept Pamps has had its day! I have been going for over 20years, but stopped 2 years ago, the place seemed full of drunken yobs from UK and Ireland. Its not a family resort anymore, the bulgarians are not as friendly as they were. And thats before we get to the lack of snow. The only way things could improve their is for people like PP to be more honest and maybe the Bulgarians will listen. By keep saying how good the place is Pete all you are ...

By keep saying how good the place is Pete all you are doing is encouraging the downward trend. You know deep down how good it used to be, be real... Pamps only ever supplied because it was cheap but fun, its no longer cheap but a rip off and no longer fun with the people it attracts...... Be honest you lot!!

re: Is Pamporovo finished?

ok your right about 1 thing. Yes the bulgarians arent as friendly as they once were, but drunken yobs?? havent seen any unless ive been in a bar. And the snow conditions are good jan-march. Xmas has always been a risky time of the season for pamps with not much snow. The time to go to pamps is jan-march. Pamps ISNT finished. Just wait t'ill the good season comes, inflation drops making the resort cheap again and bulgarians stop ripping us off ok? Cool

re: Is Pamporovo finished?

Dave and others says it is no longer cheap, but I am returning to Pamps next month for the first time since 2004 because at the moment it's cheaper in comparison with most European resorts (Lift pass, ski & boot hire plus 'free' ski school if required, all for about £125 pre-booked). Also, flight, transfers and half board at 4* hotel for less than £300 - I couldn't beat that booking everything independently, which I've done at Isola 2000 for the past couple of years.

The lack of snow so far is obviously a major concern, and I wouldn't go there early or late. Snowy Norman has a point, and Pamps' future is probably as a cheaper resort for beginners/intermediates, but even to protect that position it must sort out the snow cannon issue - if there isn't enough snow at least on the red runs next month, I won't risk going again at any price.

Chris Powell,

Being offensive demonstrates your lack of intelligence as well as your inability to hold a conversation.

Regarding the transfer, if you drive "Bulgaria Style" you may make the transfer in 3 hours, however the vast majority of tourists will be on large coaches which travel slower, and a minimum of 4 hours. Furthermore, this is to the first drop off, if you are the last of the coach, add another hour.

So, Mr Powell, if you reply to this, try and answer sensible rather ...
